The quaint village of Oyster Bay lies on the shore of Oyster Bay Harbor along the North Shore of Long Island, New York. It has a waterfront featuring a beach, park, boat rentals, marinas and marine education center.
Oyster Bay’s vibrant Waterfront Center is situated on the magnificent Long Island Sound on the northern edge of the hamlet. It offers boat rentals, a marine education center and sailing lessons. Take a ride aboard the 40-foot sloop Christeen, the oldest oyster sloop in America!
Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Park and Beach includes a sandy north shore beach with bathing in beautiful Oyster Bay Harbor, a gazebo, pavilion, covered and open picnic areas and a refreshment stand, tennis, handball and basketball courts, softball fields, children play areas, boat launching ramps, a 97-slip marina, dingy and kayak racks and scenic walking paths.
During the summer the harbor is lively with sailboat races run by the renowned Oakcliff Sailing Center and the many yacht clubs that adorn the shores of the bay.
And if the timing is right, you may even see some of Oyster Bay’s oyster farmers harvesting the only traditionally farmed oysters on Long Island, which provide roughly 90% of all the oysters harvested in New York State.
